        WHY STUDY IN GSC?                                  

   Guimaras is an island that has five municipalities,namely; Buenavista ,San Lorenzo,Sibunag,Jordan,and Nueva Valencia.Guimaras known to its scenic beauty and sweetest mango.
Guimaras State College(GSC) came into existence when Republic Act. 9138 finally got enacted by the 11th Congress at the eleventh hour on June 8,2001 through the invaluable efforts of then Congresswoman Emily R.Lopez.Its conversion into a state college also brought about the integration of the Western Visayas College of Science and Technology -Guimaras Extension ,in Alaguisoc ,Jordan,Guimaras as satellite campus ,where it was later name as Guimaras State College -Mosqueda Campus and the main campus found in Mc.lain Buenavista Guimaras.
Being the lone higher educational institution in the province of Guimaras,it was envisioned to be globally competitive center of development in Education andTechnology,producing values -oriented and self-sufficient ,skilled workers,technicians and professionals.As public entity operating with government funds,it has a mission to produce quality graduates and professionals ,responsive to the needs of the community through competent faculty and staff as well as updated facilities.
But now Guimaras State College(GSC) will be a center of excellence in education and green technology generation through the development of alternatives to technologies that have been proven damaging to health and the environment. It will create a center of economic activities through technologies and products that benefit the environment as well as creating new careers that truly protect and conserve the natural environment. Furthermore, it will work actively towards conservation of energy, natural resources, and foster the use of renewable resources. Guimaras State College mission is committed to provide access to relevant and quality education and advocate sustainable development.

As a student, it is such favorable opportunity for me to become one of the students in GSC, because of some personal reasons;First ,it is not too expensive in terms of fare and tuition fee.Second ,the school is not too far in our house and lastly the teachers are accommodating and approachable when you need their help. GSC is not the same as high standard to the other school in IloIlo but I can assure that the school is a highly standard as them in terms of lesson that being discuss and I know that our teachers were be able to help students to improve knowledge and skills.

The GSC as the only higher education institution in the province of Guimaras ,specifically the main campus has records of enrollment since the college or tertiary level was established .Also because of the availability of the courses for the students want to take up. The tuition fee is also affordable .GSC has a good nature of environment wherein it is conducive in learning .The classroom are equipped with facilities that will aid in the students learning. The use of instructional materials are utilized by using technology but they also use books as their references. The library provides adequate space and appropriate facilities to serve the academic community. They also have enough resources such as books, magazines, internet room and other reference materials to serve the needs of instruction and research. Nowadays, GSC is now using an Automated Enrollment System .Sooner the GSC will become Guimaras State Universities.

To sum up, GSC is now expanding in the different Municipality of Guimaras and it has already a big change in terms of learning and teaching. It is affordable in terms of tuition fees, in terms of classroom management it was well manage by the students and class advisers. The faculty and staff of GSC were very nice and easy to get along with them and most of all they are available the moment you need them they are  accommodating and approachable especially the President of this college.
